Hi Heather,
I have a question about the 120 consecutive payments under PSLF. As we all know, 120 monthly payments equals 10 years. However, the language says consecutive, not monthly. Is it plausible that if I made 2 loan payments a month over 5 years (120 consecutive payments) that I could have my loans forgiven? (Not that I have the income to do that….just curious if it’s possible)
Thanks!
Payments do NOT need to be consecutive. Where do you see that language? But no, you cannot get credit for more than one payment towards the 120 per month. You can, however, take longer than 10 years to make 120 qualifying payments.
