HI there,
There are 2 loans that AES and National Collegiate Trust are holding in my name that they purchased from Chase. These have been on my credit report since 2006 and 2007 and I not only have paid them at times when I was deferred for being a continuous student, but I am current on them now even though i am still in school.
One loan was taken out for $12,000; with the origination charge and interest it is at $16,386 (already paid $5167). The “disclosure statement” that accompanied the copies of the notes I received yesterday from AES state that the Finance charge is $34,643 and total payments will be $50,642 paying by their terms. I have never seen this paper before nor would I have agreed to something so ridiculous.
There is another loan for $18,000 (sitting at $26000 and I have already paid $9000) with the end result being $84,084 if I pay by their terms. The signatures of both the borrower and cosigner on the notes are fraudulent and the companies can’t provide deposit/payment method and I (the borrower) can’t confirm these loans because I was receiving real loans, federally backed loans from government agencies and these signatures that AES has are not legit.
I am wondering if I have any options to have these loans released and possibly receive a refund and maybe a little extra for my extreme emotional distress all these years? Because this is crazy. To be fair I went to a community college in Denver and the Metropolitan State College of Denver for Accounting, I am not a DR and it shouldn’t cost $150,000 for me to graduate and I am still in college because paying for those all of these years been terrible and difficult.
Thanks :)
