Thank you in advance for all the help you provide on this website. It has helped to calm my nerves on many occasions.

I am going to be working for the Dept. of Ed in NYC and will be paying IBR in hopes of receiving PSLF after 10 years. I have a friend who is a social worker and is doing the same. My friend recently mentioned that PSLF is now a lottery that you have to apply for and that only certain agencies/organizations (not simply govt jobs/non-profit) are qualifying employers.

I have googled “PSLF lottery” and “PSLF news” and nothing to this effect is appearing. Have you heard or seen anything that validates this?? I’ve reached out to my friend about whether she read this in an article or has written information and will follow up with what I learn.
