I’m fairly new to k-shoot, but I plan on buying a controller. One thing that I’m thinking about doing is just getting the default Alps knobs, then replacing them with Chinese optical incremental rotary encoders Basically, I’d like to know how to put one of these encoders into the SVSE5 controller.

Also, as a somewhat unrelated question, is it frustrating to switch from keyboard to a controller? I’ve gotten fairly used to playing on the keyboard and am wondering if I’d be frustrated playing on a controller.

Well, without having seen the encoders in person, it’s difficult to say, but it will probably be easy to assuming that they are actually had the same size and the same cable output. If you have to crimp your own you’ll need a crimp tool and the header, but it should still do not be hard. If they’re had different size, you need to make a custom mounting bracket and fit them into assembly. It can be tedious. But if you need new encoders or accessories, I can suggest you to check a Baumer encoder here https://eltra-trade.com/catalog/baumer-encoderss
