Hi Heather! I recently saw the drafted forms that will help keep track of employment for the PSLF on your site. I think these forms look great so you dont have to go back to an old job 8 years from now and find someone to sign it for you, and that the DOE will keep the forms for you is amazing!

I am wandering when these forms will be able to actually be submitted for use? I mean, when will the “draft” status come off, and the form can be submitted? I am really trying to get this process started ASAP!

I called Direct Loan Servicing today, and they didnt seem to know ANYTHING about the forms. I even talked to a supervisor, and she didnt even know a draft exisisted.

Is there a date for this? What is the time frame?

So, I’m not sure when the forms will be finalized.  I’m asking around to get some other estimates and I’ll post an update once I get a clear answer from the powers that be.

I am thinking about switching jobs, and it would just be so much easier to not have to come back 10 years down the line to get something signed. I have looked over the draft forms that are now under the “public commenting period”. They look like exactly something I am looking for; is there a date of when you think the forms will become active? Anytime soon? Why are they making it so complicated with this? I’ve been told by the Dept of Ed to expect them around the 1st part of next year (Jan. 2012), but I’ve learned not to hold my breath on those predictions.  I’ll be sure to post them and send out email to my list.  Be sure to keep your contact info updated in my mailing list (top right of the home page).
