Hello Heather and fellow student-loan sufferers,
Assuming the correct types of loans are in place, do you think full-time employment at a state-chartered, 501(c)(14) credit union, would qualify for PSLF? The credit union in question is the State Employees’ Credit Union in Raleigh, NC.
Per the credit union’s 990 on guidestar.org, its mission is to"improve economic life, social condition, provide credit and broaden economic awareness.”
It seems like the “broaden economic awareness” has an educational aspect, although it is not taking place in schools. Would it be worth sending in the employment certification form to see how the Department of Education responds? I am thinking it might be worth trying ASAP, so as to be grandfathered in to the program (in light of the planned changes to, and/or elimination of, the program).
Thanks in advance for your thoughts,
Harmony
