After faking us all out by retiring this offseason Tom Brady is back. The 44-year-old quarterback is set to start this season, his 23rd NFL season. It’s likely to be the final season for seven-time Super Bowl champion and five-time Super Bowl MVP, right… right? We all know that but then we take a look at how he plays every single season.

In the year prior, Brady led the league in passing yards, with 5.316 and touchdowns with 43. In 2020. he passed for 4.633 yards and 40 touchdowns. The main question about Brady is when he’ll eventually begin to show signs of age. We’ve all been waiting for the inevitable fallout, and it’s not yet happened. A bad season for Brady isn’t even making this year’s Super Bowl. Brady’s bid for an eighth Super Bowl ring fell short after the Buccaneers lost to the Rams 30 to 27 on the NFC Divisional Round. However, now he’s back and with vengeance. Watch out, league.

Based solely on his legacy, I think Brady deserves a spot atop the charts. It’s quite clear that Brady is at the close of his playing career, but it has nothing to directly relate to his performance. He’s likely to continue to play for another five years at the very most. In the meantime He’s still one of the best quarterbacks in the game. It’s very likely that Brady shows a decline this season but, at present I’m putting him in the position of the third-best quarterback in Madden 23.

To be precise, I think quarterbacks like Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are more powerful playmakers. They are most exciting, younger quarterbacks. They are also a new paradigm in what we expect from the position. They are dual threat quarterbacks who can beat you with either their legs or arm. However, no quarterback has yet demonstrated the consistency of Brady. In fact, they not been able to match his stats. Although they might be the future of the league, Brady is still the man today.
