I know that this is a recently new topic and not much seems to be known, but do you have any information on the January 31st exclusion of clergy from PSLF?

Is this new policy have legal strength?  If the department sticks to this policy, will there be a course for appeal?  Or better is this a policy that can be contested?  Where can clergy go from here?

Sorry to ask all these questions but no one I have called seems to have answers.

I know that in my case (as I am sure applies to many others) decisions, family plans, and loan repayment strategies were changed because both the law (College Cost Reduction and Access act of 2007—http://www.gpo.gov/fdsys/pkg/PLAW-110publ84/pdf/PLAW-110publ84.pdf) and the Dept of Ed’s final regulations in October of 2008 (http://edocket.access.gpo.gov/2008/pdf/E8-24922.pdf) qualified clergy under the 501 (c) 3 employment.  Can the Dept of Ed, just change this regulation?  Thank you.
