I have recently met with admissions/financial aid folks at Penn and Harvard law, and in discussions about their repayment assistance programs vs. the federal ones, they have both made vague references to “penalties” associated with the government programs. I think maybe penalties if you need to leave IBR for some reason? Or leave the public service forgiveness program?

Anyway I have explored various information sites, and I was at your talk at UT-Austin, and I can’t remember or find any reference to this kind of thing. Can you provide any additional light on what they may be referring to?
