I got an email from Direct Loans a few weeks ago saying that my loans had been sold to Sallie Mae.  I now show a zero balance on the Direct Loans website.  I already have some loans with Sallie Mae, and my balance on the Sallie Mae website does not reflect the Direct Loans balance.  I have not heard from Sallie Mae about the Direct Loans.  My Direct Loan payment for this month has not been deducted by either Direct Loans or Sallie Mae.  I don’t want to go into default for missing a payment…should I contact Sallie Mae?  How should I proceed?
