I work in childcare and am wondering if i would qualify for PSLF. I run a daycare in my home, but it is not organized as a nonprofit.

I can’t advise you about your specific situation, but I can tell you that only government and nonprofit organizations are qualifying employers.  Private business that isn’t organized as a 501(c)(3) can still qualify in very limited circumstances, but ONLY if it is nonprofit, plus more.  A sole proprietor without nonprofit status couldn’t qualify the way I read it.

So if I became a nonprofit, I could qualify? Is it the exemption from the IRS or would I need to be recognized by the state? How do you get started with this?
