Hi Heather, I attended your presentation at BU Law last
semester, and I have a quick question: Is the Public Interest Loan
Forgiveness program only open to those who GRADUATE and finish their
degree program, or would someone who is eligible in all other ways,
but who has not completed his degree program, be able to participate
in the loan forgiveness program? In other words, if I for some reason
do not finish my law degree, can I still pay off my first year law
school debt via the forgiveness program if I qualify in all other
respects? Thank you in advance.
Hello Lia. My name is James and I am Heather’s Communications Director. According to Heather, you need not graduate from law school in order to qualify for Public Service Loan Forgiveness, provided that you otherwise qualify. Yep. No need to complete any degree program.
