I recently discovereed I have used up my forebearances and deferments, and I was actually eligible for Income based repayments (which would have ben $0 per month) for the last 3 years.  I chose to use the unemployement deferment because I was not making much money and was (and currently am) looking for a job, and the representative from my loan company told me to do this. I have my tax returns to prove it. 

Is there any way I can recover these months?

Please help me, when I contact them I want to be armed, I wasn’t aware that they were malicously trying to get me to use up all my deferments and forebearances….

It was my understanding that the IBR wasn’t widely available until the end of 2012, which means your servicer probably wasn’t holding out on you.  You might be able to back date it to when the IBR became available, which would be worth it to get a couple extra emergency months.
