I have a very unique problem with my student loans and was told to check with you about where to go for help.
I was granted a TOtal and Permant discharge by Nel Nets, TPD group in November, due to an illness. My loans were consolidated but they did not know that. Consolidated with my husbands. The TPD included all the amounts totally now with interest $116,000. I was thrilled and grateful.
Then 3 months ago I get a letter from Nelnet servicer that my forbearance was coming to an end and I’d have to start repaying. So ,I called and tried to explain no, I was discharged, no they said we do not have that record. I totally flipped out because I have my papers saying so. The problem is the one department hasn’t given the right codes to the other department and discovered the consolidated loan mess. I said sorry, you gave this to me.

So yesterday in the mail is a letter from nelnet servicer of my loans saying if I want to do income based payment fill in these forms and gave me the link. I proceeded like the good person I am, and low and behold it says “I HAVE NO LOANS SERVICABLE AND THEN UNDER NEATH IT US DEPT ED TPD

So I flip out again , call Nel net, and say I can’t fill this in because I have no loans with you ? So of course she says no, I’m showing the ..... And I’ll take the information , which I gave because I’m not hiding anything. I do not work much, 8 - 12 hours a week , but my husband is full time.
So my questions is what kind of legal action can I take and with whom to get this figured out! Thanks, sorry this is so long winded.
