I have been out of school for a year and a couple months and have already found myself in a “delinquent” state with my loans for a second time now. I’m unable to send the amount per month that they want me to send, therefore increasing the payment each month. It is now up to $2200. I’m not able to give that in any capacity. I have a temporarily full time job, that has only been full time since July, making $9 an hour. Nearly all of the money I have goes to my loan payment each month, however I have two other bills to pay that require my attention. My parents who are co signers on the loan may soon need to declare bankruptcy as a result of their credit dropping so low due to my delinquent accounts. I, however, don’t even have that option as I would not be considered in the realm of “undue hardship” as I have no dependents and have a job.
I don’t know what else to do. I cannot make money any faster than I am. NJ Class will not work with me. My father spoke to a nice man a couple months ago who figured out that I was being asked to pay the wrong amount and was able to fix it and to take of my first delinquent charge. That worked for a month until they asked me to pay $800 which I did/do not have, and it has been another downfall since.
Please help.
