I’m having an epic meltdown. Cybele Smith (from Moritz) referred me to you/your site.

Here is my issue: The new fact sheet (https://studentaid.ed.gov/sites/default/files/public-service-loan-forgiveness.pdf) is indicating that FFEL Consolidated loan is NOT eligible under PSLF, and hence, all my payments since PSLF enactment (10/07) do NOT count towards my 120 payments under PSLF?

However, ALL of my loans were DIRECT Stafford Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans (‘03-‘05); I then consolidated them 10/18/06 into FFEL. So, since all of my loans WERE DIRECT loans, why shouldn’t all of my payments since Oct. ’07 count?

The information is indicating that I need to re-consolidate into a NEW Direct Consolidated Loan and the payments counted towards 120 payments for PSLF would start ALL OVER.

I have been working public interest since graduating law school. I have been financially planning to have all my loans paid off by Nov. 2017 (my 40th Birthday.) Now I discover today that I may have 7 more years than I anticipated??
