HI,
I have read that if I am working full-time at a non-profit, and get direct plus loans while going back to graduate school, then I can deny in-school deferment and make qualifying payments under IBR toward PSLF for both my “old” loans that I have already been making payments on, and my “new” loans that I will be acquiring whilst obtaining another degree.
I’m confused with how these “new loans” will be handled….
Will they be lumped into my old loans and forgiven at the same time? In other words, if I have been paying on my existing loans for say, 3 years, and continue paying on them for another 2 years while obtaining a masters degree. Will all of my debt, old and new, be forgiven after another 5 years of public service?
Hopefully I explained that well enough. Thanks for any responses.
Josh
