My name is Kris I live in GA,  I need to know if you can possibly help my mom & myself. My mother co-signed on a private student loan for me through a company (Next Student) that has since gone belly up and is now serviced with NCB Management Services. I recently lost my job and my mother is retired and on a fixed income. On May 18th the sheriffs office came to my parents home and served a formal complaint to my mother and myself from a lawyers office in which we have 30 days to reply. I’m terrified of what the consequences are at this point for us both, but mostly my mother because her name is on my parents home & accounts. I have a little money saved but I’m using that to cover my bills until I can find a full-time job again. Is my situation completely hopeless at this point? Do I have any options left?
