My husband and I filed our taxes as MFJ for 2014. I’m now seeing everywhere that it is probably far more beneficial for us to file MFS- in doing the numbers we will pay more in taxes but it will be outweighed with lower loan payments.

My question is, when we file our taxes next year as MFS can we resubmit the loan recertification early so as to lower our loan payments or will be have to wait until our annual recertification which won’t be until August of next year? I’m pretty sure you can resubmit for a change in circumstances but would this qualify as one so we can have a recalculation?
