My TEACH grant was recently converted to a loan, adding over $5000 to my already existing loan. I am already working full time as an early childhood special educator. In fact, I started this position a week before I graduated. I was looking for ways to provide certification for my teaching service months after graduation but couldn’t find anything. The notice they started sending in May of this year slipped my attention because the email notices didn’t specifically mention TEACH grant and I ignored them thinking they were just the monthly emails about the payment I was making on another loan. I am able to provide proof of my service, dating back to my start date of March 2014.

I have been told by the fed loan representative that once converted to loan, it can’t be reinstated as a grant. I was just curious to know if there are any circumstances at all under which this can be possible though?
