Unenrolling one from one school and enrolling in another.

I’m completely lost on this and I couldn’t find anything already on the forum so forgive me if this is already answered.

I enrolled in 6 credits at a non-profit university. I realize now that it is not right for me and I would rather attend a community college. None of my credits would transfer (they are for classes not needed on a community college level) so I would effectively be starting fresh. I’ve only completed (or are about to complete) one semester.

My question is this:

If I unenroll from this school and register at a new one immediately for the next semester, how does this affect my student loan status? They are all federal loans, none private. Would I have to start making payments? Do I have to actually complete the courses I’m in now and get credit to maintain my student status?
