How does my retirement affect my parent plus loan

My daughter went to nursing school and is now an RN. She started at a private college which was expensive but everyone kept telling us for nursing she would get grants and help paying for college. After 2 years with no help she transferred to a community college program and graduated. When she applied for FAFSA she received a small amount through subsidized and unsubsidized loans but the rest I went in and took out parent plus loans. When I talked to great lakes about loan forgiveness they informed me that even though my daughter was a nurse working at a public hospital the parent plus loans I had would not qualify because I did not work in public service. I had no idea that was the case. Since that time I have retired, and so has my husband though the loans are not in his name. I am trying to get information to decide how to handle this. Is there anyway to get these loans covered by loan forgiveness or since I am retired are there any special programs for which I might qualify. Perhaps I should try to get a job in the public service field but since I don’t think I will be working another 10 years what would happen after I retired again. I would also like to consider moving my loans from Great Lakes to the Federal Government loan servicing but again, since I am retired with no income I am not sure that is the smart thing to do. Any input is greatly appreciated.

It’s great to hear for me. I was wondering about this topic! And now I have some answers. And maybe https://gust.com/companies/casino-hex-japan would be a nice addition to what you mentioned above.
