Now that we’re further along in the budget process, are there any updates on the proposed $57,500 cap on PSLF?

My brother has been accepted into a graduate program for which he’ll need to take out loans, and for which he’ll qualify for PSLF when he secures a job in his field. He could begin this graduate program as early as this summer semester (in June), though he’d rather wait until fall 2015.

I mentioned to him the DOE’s statement regarding the fact that students would need to secure the first loan toward their course of study before July 1, 2015 in order to qualify for PSLF without the cap.

Have there been any updates on this issue?
